The problem of internal measurement in the physical sciences in fact contains the key to solving the riddle of memory. Memory is said to be a phenomenon expressed in the present-tense connection between action and inaction, and is almost completely opposite to the past-tense nature of records. The author re-examines the problems of memory, time, and language through a completely new application of internal measurement.
